NOTE!
This is the no-frames version of the Cthulhu Lexicon. As such, some of the pages may load
a little strange, and you may find yourself having to jump around between references and
links a little more than usual. To conserve space on my server, I had to settle for this
method. A solution for this problem may be to download either Netscape Navigator 3.01 or
better or MSIE 3.0 or better. Both browsers allow frames and other conventions utilized at
the NetherReal. |
Navigation
Features!
The Cthulhu Lexicon contains in depth information and
statistics on people, places, creatures, and artifacts identified in the many stories of
H.P. Lovecraft.
If you wish to add to the list, please do so! Just email me with the entry, a summary, and which
story you found it in. Submissions do not have to be from stories written by Lovecraft.
They can be from any story at all, as long as it is based on Lovecraft and/or the Cthulhu
Mythos. Remember, though, that this last sentence is the key. The entries must be from
published stories.
I do my best to ensure the accuracy of all things listed in The
Cthulhu Lexicon, but I'm only human. Already I've found mistakes which have been
promptly corrected. If you see a listing and know the information given is incorrect,
please contact me and let me know. All I ask is that when giving the correction, list the
story and approximate location within the story that your correction comes from. Thanks
for helping!
For more references, check out http://users.deltanet.com/~lumiere/mythos.The
site contains a list of every person, place, and thing found in mythos stories, and even
includes stories, page, and sometimes paragraph number.
I've begun to implement a new navigation system in the Lexicon, and hope
to have it fully functional by the end of the month. As you'll notice on most of the pages
I've done away with the up and down arrows. Instead, you'll find the following
navigational aid at the end of each entry:
[Prior Entry] [Next Entry] [Top
of Page] [Bottom of Page]
Each link does the following:
Prior Entry - Takes you to the entry prior to the one you are presently reviewing for that
particular story. If you are reviewing an entry about one of the mythos deities, takes you
to the deity prior to the one you are reviewing (alphabetically listed). If you are
reviewing tomes, takes you to the tome prior to the one you are reviewing (alphabetically
listed).
Next Entry - Takes you to the entry following the one you are presently reviewing for that
particular story. If you are reviewing an entry about one of the mythos deities, takes you
to the deity after the one you are reviewing (alphabetically listed). If you are reviewing
tomes, takes you to the tome after the one you are reviewing (alphabetically listed).
Top of Page and Bottom of
Page - Self-explanatory.
I believe this new method of navigation is better adapted to the purpose
of the Lexicon. Let me know what you think of it.
Some of the pages contain a lot of information. As such, they're going
to take a little time to load, especially if you aren't using the frame version of the Lexicon.
Be patient.
There are two ways to look something up (click on the one you wish to
use):
- By alphabetical order. Listings are presented
alphabetically without links to each other or stories.
- By story. Story listings provide
links and associations between listings.
